Gigi: Artist Statement
“Jinxx’s Jinn”
My art to me is my Jinn. Jinns are almost like spirits, and they can choose to be good or evil. When I was in active addiction and pregnant with my daughter, I saw one and I realized I could be tormented or I could get out and be good. It is a smoky figure of comfort, but also darkness, and then the two little blue spots at the bottom are my daughter’s mark.
