HSC Guidelines for Sharing and Commenting

The primary goal of sharing and commenting should be to promote health. We want to hear your stories, and we want to hear your reactions to other peoples’ stories, but we encourage you to try to maintain a nonjudgmental and supportive attitude at all times. This does not mean you have to agree with everything that is shared on this site. We support varying points of view and healthy dialogue on issues, but try to keep it constructive.

We will not tolerate the following:

  • Intolerance: This includes any suggestion of discrimination on the basis of age, race, creed, color, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, sex, or marital status.

  • Violence: This includes any threats of violence or threats to personal or group safety.

  • Inflammatory or foul language: This includes racial or ethnic slurs, other derogatory slurs or insults directed at particular individuals or groups, and swear words.

We, Health Story Collaborative, reserve the right to withhold publication of any shared material that violates these policies, as determined by us. We also reserve the right to remove the offending language and go forward with publication of the shared material, if this is feasible and worthwhile, as determined by HSC staff. Such material will be marked as “Edited by Moderator”.
